The natural aesthetics and sheer beauty of Granite can be enjoyed from the floor to the ceiling in a bathroom. A few great examples are Granite tub surrounds, Granite shower enclosures, and Granite vanity tops.
Granite has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs' scale. This means that granite is highly resistant to scratches. However, we still recommend using a wooden saucer for cutting granite countertops.
The shine of granite countertops is achieved by grinding in various grain sizes up to polishing. The shine of granite is not a "varnish" of the stone surface, but is achieved by grinding to the degree of polish. The gloss of the surface is therefore the intrinsic gloss of the material. This gloss is also resistant to UV light.
Depending on the type of material, granites have a particularly interesting texture. No plate is the same as another. Each plate is virtually unique. The naturalness of a material is particularly expressed with granite.
Depending on the type of granite countertops, granites are also natural stones that absorb only little liquid. The density of the material provides so to speak information about the absorption behavior of liquids. Fine-grained granites absorb less liquid, whereas medium and coarse-grained granites absorb more liquid.
Impregnations specially adapted to the stone reduce the absorption of liquids.
Granite countertops are largely temperature and heat resistant. However, we recommend using a coaster for hot pots.
Granite countertops is resistant to UV light. Light, as it can penetrate through large window areas in the kitchen, does not change the gloss or polish of the material.
Depending on the type of material, granite plates are sometimes also available in lengths greater than 300cm. This means long worktop lengths without any gaps. Attention! However, this is not possible for each type of material.
Another great advantage of granite countertops are that it is acid-resistant to a certain extent, which means that champagne, vinegar or milk usually do not harm the surface.
The care of the granite countertops are limited to impregnation with an anti-spotting agent before the kitchen is put into operation. For ongoing maintenance care, only a spray, which is sprayed on to clean the slab, is to be used. This spray cleans and completes the stain protection of the panel.
